So uhhm hey, long time no see right? Oh guys I am so sorry I keep coming and going. Truth be told, much like before, inspiration to make crafts has dwindled lately and when i do want to make something I just think everything I try looks like…well, crap!

I made a few bits and pieces in december and january but usually when I come home from work i’m too exhausted to want to make anything -____-

I did however muster the strength to make this little decoden glass jar with a chocolate theme. I actually work in a small chocolate shop so I was inspired to make mini versions of some of the delicious treats we sell: almond marzipan, peppermint creme, milk chocolate caramel and rum truffle! I added a big chocolate bar just to fill up empty space XD

The sauce is brown scribbles paint (which i sorely need more of right now).

Perhaps a tad late for ginger bread houses but i think i may have finally gotten my head around how to craft them in clay!

It’s not 100% finished yet and that drizzle on the roof is still drying, but i’m hoping it’ll look super when it’s done!

I suppose it’s the introduction of new clay and clay accessories that gets me back into crafting on a regular basis. And hey, now that i have some form of income i can actually afford to continue making things. Anyway.

I got a bunch of amazing clay sets and various molds for christmas (more on that in a later post) but one of the items i got, that i’ve been lusting after for EVER, was a Debika chocolates mold. It’s a pretty petite little thing made of semi flexible plastic. So far i’ve used it with polymer clay and that worked an absolute treat so i’m assuming paper clay will be no trouble at all :)

So i made a bunch of chocolate bars and chocolate hearts. They’ll end up being rings and such once i get more bases in stock!

My boyfriend got me a fuwa fuwa set from Modes4u for christmas and i made this little cake with it yesterday :)

The clay texture itself is really nice, doesn’t stain or leave your hands dry (which is a pet peeve of mine!) And i like that i can use the mold for other clay crafts too!

I got many more exciting clay things for christmas so stay tuned to see them :)

So i finally got hold of some moulding putty (it’s so hard to come by!) and decided to make a cast of one of my favourite rings: a giant pink skull. I’m obsessed with skulls lately and now i have a fairly decent skull mould! Hurrah!!

I started a new job back in early november and haven’t had much time, as well as little resources, for crafting! But now that christmas is looming i’ll have a wee bit more time to get back into creating sweet treats so stay tuned for some updates very very shortly.

The Japanese Kitkats i ordered from sushinoms.com arrived this morning! They currently have 3 flavours available on their site: Sakura Green Tea, Wa-Ichigo, and Uji Matcha. The Wa-Ichigo one is for myself and the Uji-Matcha is for my friend Rebecca who’s been searching everywhere for a Green Tea kit kat!

I shall start by saying that Japanese Kitkats are so hard to find outside of Japan. If they crop up online they’re usually gone within days. As soon as i saw these i just knew i had to get them.

Sushinoms have been appearing at conventions for some time now, selling some of the best snacks and accessories from Japan. And with the recent launch of their online store you can now buy all sorts cute mobile phone straps, figurines and candy! I found out about them from an advert in Neo magazine…a bright pink page covered in images of super cute things…how am i not going to pay attention to that?!

I ordered on friday afternoon and had an email saying the items would be dispatched the next day. The prices were really reasonable considering the rarity of the snacks i bought. The Kitkats were £4.50 each and with shipping everything came to just over £10. They ship worldwide too which is a plus! And look! They even included 2 super cute origami cranes. I am a sucker for little extras like that. Well, they’ve definitely got a new fan from me! :D

SOFFY CLAY REVIEW

So whilst out shopping the other day i stumbled across this brand of air dry clay i’ve never heard of before. It’s called ‘Soffy’ and it’s made by a company called Carioca Art…i think they may be Spanish but i’m not entirely sure. Anyway, the store was doing a 2 packs for £1 deal so i bought 4.

They come in basic primary colours and the general idea is that you mix them to create more. What’s great is that the clay comes in re-sealable pouches so that it doesn’t dry out.

I likened the texture to a moussey sort of texture, very light and very easy to mix. I also have this weird thing about my skin drying out whenever i use paper or air dry clay but i had no problems with that when using this clay.

I don’t know what the availability of this clay is wherever you live, and heck, i don’t even know if i’ll be able to buy anymore of this stuff as the store i got it from is notorious for stocking things one week and then never again!
